COURSE OVERVIEW
This session will serve as an introductory workshop for dental doctors and staff members on incorporating sleep dentistry into their practice.
Sleep Apnea is becoming a more frequent topic of discussion in dental practices. It is estimated to affect a billion individuals worldwide, yet only one in five cases has been detected. It's a well-known fact that the dental office is typically the initial setting where the oropharyngeal airway receives a detailed examination. In 2017, the American Dental Association acknowledged the pivotal role of dental offices in detecting and managing Sleep Apnea, advocating for an in-depth assessment of airway anatomy and function within a primary dental care environment. Course instructors will demonstrate how to address sleep considerations during regular dental hygiene appointments.
