Dr. Cook completed his undergraduate degree at Baylor University in 1984, followed by his dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1988. He initially joined a City Dental Clinic, simultaneously establishing his first de novo dental practice. Subsequently, he acquired an existing practice. He founded departments specializing in Maxillofacial Orthopedics/Orthodontics and introduced computer-guided implant placement and restoration within his practice. This experience provided him with insights into the interconnection between the airway, bruxism, and the long-term stability of dental treatments.

Dr. Cook expanded his team by bringing on associates, enabling the launch of a sleep dentistry department. It was here that he discovered his true calling in assisting individuals affected by obstructive sleep apnea, along with its signs, symptoms, and related conditions. Following the success of his sleep dentistry practice, he sold his general dental practices to dedicate himself entirely to the field of sleep dentistry.

While maintaining his full-time commitment to sleep dentistry, Dr. Cook founded a sleep billing company named Comprehensive Sleep Services. This company was created to overcome the challenges that general dentists and orthodontists encounter while integrating a sleep medicine component into their busy practices. Currently, he manages Comprehensive Sleep Services full-time and operates a sleep clinic on a part-time basis. Initially starting with a single in-network insurance contract in one state, the company has expanded to include nine insurance providers across all 50 states. This growth has enabled him to assist a greater number of patients suffering from sleep-related issues and to make a significant contribution to the field of dental sleep medicine.
